*warning: do not read and drive*
YAAAYYYY!!!!! Alhamdulillah, I'm so happy to announce that as of Saturday, the 7th of May, 2005, I have officially become a licensed driver. (I just LOOOOVE to overdramatise things don't I?) I felt a little shaky early in the morning (I had my final lesson at 7.00 that morning, I had to be there at 6.30--Torture!) and then halfway thru my final parking practise it started to drizzle...on the way to JPD, it started to POUR! It was pretty nerve-wracking to know you're about to sit for your test when the weather was like that. I heard rumours about the car sllipping on the slope when it was raining and stuf like that.
So when I sat to register for my test, the officer, who looked quite scary at first, told me that it was his job to spot my mistakes while driving, not to test me. (or something along those lines, my heart was pounding so hard around this time I couldn't really get what he was saying) And I was like "Huh? What's he going on about?" Then he was like, "I'm giving you the choice of going for your test now, or if you would like to go later." THAT I understood. So I was thinking to myself, "Do I go now and get it over with or postpone it?" Then I went to ask my instructor and HE went "Well, it's your choice" so there I was staring into the rain for what felt like HOURS when I finally decided to wait. And here I thought, postponing meant like the afternoon or another day or something, but the instructor was like, OK, we'll wait till the rain is not so heavy. And, personally, I think EVERYONE should have their driving test when it's raining. Cause sitting there waiting for the rain to stop had a sort of calming effect on me and my hands weren't so cold, my heart wasn't pounding that hard and the sandwich I had for breaksfast didn't feel like it was going to climb its way out of my oesophagus anymore when I finally decided that the rain wasn't that bad that I couldn't drive. (Ewwww right? But I'm just telling it like it is hehehe). And thus, my driving test began...when I did my parking bit...there was a minor "accident" which I will not mention, but let's just say because of the rain, the officer was extremely nice and gave me a second chance and...well...POINT OF THE STORY IS: I PASSED!!!!! :D
Tomorrow, I'm off to get my license! Yay!!!
Other than the driving test, Saturday was pretty filled up for me, I watched "Kingdom of Heaven" with the "Saturday crew"..And OMG!!! I recommend it to EVERYONE...I mean, it's not just Orlando Bloom who was so good (he was pretty yummy in the role) but the whole movie itself was awesome...I mean, c'mon we're talking Ridley Scott here people!!! Oh, my row was filled with Orlando fans so it got pretty loud in the beginning of the movie when he first appreared on the screen...but c'mon we were just having a leeeeeetle fun, I guess the guy next to us just found the fun sooooo unbearable he HAD to move (drama king anyone???? *rolling eyes*) If he stayed around, he would have noticed we actually got quieter as the movie progressed cause we were totally concentrating..and after that, I watched "Wedding Date" with my family...erm...let's just say, maybe cause I just watched the action-packed "KoH" or maybe the other people in the audience weren't very responsive to the movie, Dermot Mulroney was the only thing stopping me from leaving my seat...*ouch* but true..then I had dinner out and ended the night with an ep of SNL and QE.
*whew* okay, I'm done. Happy (belated) Mother's Day to all mommies out there! Siti F, out!
