lilqil: ahhhh it's lovely to hear from you...With regards to the site, i might have come across the BB theory when i clicked through all the links in the site for speed of light...but the author himself says that his theories are just theories to try and decipher from his understanding of physics, the word of Allah swt...for everything he says, Wallah Wa'alam...but it's something to think about, no? hehe it's nice to get a disussion going :)
Mash: updating...miss you loads!
Mun: Dolce ice cream as soon as i finish my assignment right? muahahha
Okay, on to my blog...
Going back to the 2nd year of uni has messed up my priorities, I admit. I am human, prone to mistakes...and old habits die hard, let's just say...Well, I hope I've got my priorities all right now...Apologies for being so vague...this is nothing too dramatic I promise so I'm sure no-one is missing out on anything...
"Beautified for men is the love of things they covet; women, children, much of gold and silver (wealth), branded beautiful horses, cattle and well-tilled land. This is the pleasure of the present world's life; but Allâh has the excellent return (Paradise with flowing rivers, etc.) with Him." (Surah Al-Imran, ayat 14)
My beloved Melbourne was host to the Commonwealth Games which was between the 15th and 26th of March..If I can get my image hosting thing working I may be able to get pics of the opening and closing ceremonies (which I went to) up to share with everyone....insya Allah that will be ok soon! In the mean time, the opening ceremony ticket is shown below:
The fortnight with Melbourne hosting the Commonwealth has been pretty awesome, but with all the hustle and bustle of the Games, I can sort of see a hint of the racism in a miniscule few of the Aussies...I'm not saying the whole country was mean spirited...Things tend to get a bit out of proportion when racism's involved doesn't it? But well, a few events have snapped me out of the naive impression that Australia's the friendliest country in the world. Hey, now, don't totally write off the country...I went to the supermarket earlier and the guy behind the counter, getting me the salmon fillets had to be the nicest guy in the world with the friendliest smile..but with every thing in the world, the country has some flaws in it....
""In the past, yes, I have made sweeping indictments of all white people. I will never be guilty of that again — as I know now that some white people are truly sincere, that some truly are capable of being brotherly toward a black man. The true Islam has shown me that a blanket indictment of all white people is as wrong as when whites make blanket indictments against blacks." - Malcolm X
Ahhh, bloody hell..I don't want to be such a downer! I enjoyed the opening ceremony very much and Delta Goodrem was absolutely gorgeous..Can't say much of the closing..had a bad experience prior to it which dampened my mood for the day...Ben Lee and Casey Donovan was there but didn't get too hyped over it...Since India'll be hosting next, they had a segment to perform which DID highlight my day...Aishwarya yo! Kajol yo! hahah...had a friend who was a Bollywood fanatic and pretty much screamed throughout the performance...but who wouldn't??? (I'll tell you who, culturally deprived Au...OOPS! did not say anything!)
Pink is the new blog is a funny blog. Further proof that I am a walking, talking controversy.
Oh, I went on a Wikipedia frenzy the other day and happened across a link for Malcolm X. Interesting guy, Malcolm X. Had a lot of interesting things to say. I must say, I wasn't aware that Mos Def was also a Muslim brother. Very cool...
I have 3 assignments due in the following three weeks: IB next Monday and Banking + Tax Law the following Friday...So apologies for the future lack of posts...but as I have said before, I tend to post the most when my work is piled up.
Peace everyone! And have a nice day :)
