Assalamualaikum everyone~ Jake at work. With Robert Downey Jr. no less! Zodiac will be out at the end of the year, hopefully. Hooray for Jake-movie goodnesss~!!! Yum Yum Yum. In the next few weeks, I'll be waiting in line for the following movies: Click on the pictures to find out more about them. *scary movie voice* will you be there? LOL. Ok peeps. That's enough procrastination from me. I'll see you all soon insya Allah (23rd June. Huh? Whatchu all talking about?) :D
Ahh, the joys of living in procrastination. I've been meaning to start on my final assignment since last weekend, but I've come up empty handed so far. Saw a movie trailer on E!, right? and it's got Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett in it, having a conversation in a desert somewhere. Skali, I thought, eh...looks too political for my taste. Then, when I went online to search for the Brokeback Mountain DVD release date in Australia (21st bloody July fyi), came across the movie (its called Babel btw) again...to discover that OMG, Gael oh-my-goodness-oh-my-hotness Garcia Bernal will be in it! Okay. So. 1 Hot Guy + bearded Brad Pitt + political setting = maybe not so bad movie.
And then, thought I'd find out more about the movie. Turns out...it's got an interesting premise. Very interesting. Found out the origin of the word Babel on an imdb.com discussion board (not entirely reliable, but something to go on nonetheless) : it's possible that since the film takes place in several countries, that Babel refers to the old myth of when the tower of Babel was being built to reach Heaven, and God wasn't crazy about that so he created the differences of languages so no twoer could be built, which was an almost childlike attempt at describing differences of culture and language, but also a humorous origin of the word "babble", or nonsensicaly talk in ways no one can understand. just a guess. - click here to check out the discussion of what Babel is purported to be.
Ok, my interests tend to lie in these type of things right? Discussions on philosophy, religion, history, language, witchcraft, fate...I'm a sucker for these kinda things. And the plot seems to revolve around how one event triggers a whole bunch of other events. OK, sounds familiar...Crash, anyone? 21 grams? I love those movies! My point is? I'm probably gonna be one of the first to check out this movie now! LOL....
And now, back on earth:
Been busy dragging my feet around the place doing zilch. Original plan was to have last weekend off to finish off that damn assignment. Should've done what I could on Friday, but come on! I just had Tax Law that morning and Footloose was on malamnya. ~footloose, footloose, kick off your sunday shoes~ Wanted to have Friday lunch with Jai but the rain was relentless. Skali, wanted to have whole weekend off. But then, promised Ka Sitah her ciggies that weekend so thought I'd drop it off Sat noon (let's face it, nobody wakes up before 12 on a weekend). While out, thought I might as well get lunch out. Then thought might as well have lunch with Jai and Lil. So I did, at Skewers.
While there, Jai & I received a text from Molly. She invited a whole bunch of us over to her place cause her mom was in town and man, did they prepare an excellent feast...Haven't had roast lamb in a while, man! :D That family can make one helluva dinner. Had major fun and guests were invited (nay, forced) to sing karaoke. Ohhh boy, you would think after so much choir I'd be up fo showing off my vocal prowess. *tch* what vocal prowess??? Me thinks, ill leave the karaoke singing when I'm with the resident org gila-s from the old 'table'. LOL.
Since I returned home pretty late, chatted on MSN till like 5 in the morning, and woke up at 2 on Sunday...which means that the rest of that day went pretty quickly, with no time to spare for work. LOL. Big Brother eviction on Sunday night, Big Brother nominations yesterday...Looks like the BB obsession is starting all over again. I can't help it ok? That David fella is just soooo hottt. What is with me and gay/purported to be gay men?????! It's that grooming thing, ok? I'm terrible at grooming myself (note the often unkempt hair) and I'm attracted to those who are good at it. LOL.
Song I'm most addicted to at the mo: Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton. It still makes me cry.
Thing I miss most about the old days: The times when we used to imitate org AF.
Guy I would most love to cook with LOL: Jakey Poo! He's purported to be an excellent cook. My God, where is this guy? He's straight, he's well groomed and he knows how to cook! Someone get me his no.!
