The poet in me.
Assalamualaikum~
Ahh I haven't updated in a while..I've just been uninspired...But I've just finished the first of many assignments for the semester and as a result I'm left with the residue of creative juices which tend to stick around when I've done a particular big assignment...
Maybe when thoughts in my mind are forever burnt,
I shouldn't spend my time so near the flame
I feel number when my mind is preoccupied
By anything that doesn't concern
The things that I'm tied to
I cry, sometimes
When I am alone
'Cause I'm so far away from home
So far away, from everything that I know
I've never gotten used to the feeling
Of missing
So I'll listen to my rock records
And I'll spend,
And I'll stone,
And I'll joke,
Because when I do these things,
I am not alone....even for a while
I think that's the first time I've ever shared a poem of mine...I guess I've never made any sense before this but with this one I think I've done a decent job...Haha pat on the back for me.
Anyway, I've had the grand total of one and a half hours of sleep in the past 48 hours (not counting the time I've dozed off in Gerald's lecture) so I'm going to bed early tonight.
Before I sign off, however, I should mention the shocking news from yesterday: Steve Irwin's passing has had a huge impact on this country and honestly, even if I found him annoying at times, his infectious energy will be missed. Australia has lost one of its legendary icons and one of the few good sons it can be proud of.
RIP Crocodile Hunter!
