*warning: do not read and drive*
Assalamualaikum,
So I know I haven't updated in centuries (it's really getting tiring to see that on this blog isn't it), but here I am. I'm sure most have given up hope on catching up with this blog since it feels like it moves at a snail's pace. But what can I say? I'm STILL unemployed and I've been pretty much floating day to day in a jobless trance so it's useless to write up here with the same old "so today I woke up, sent my mum to work, watched tv, met up some friends for coffee, picked up mum from work, had lunch" routine.
So in my current state, I've resorted to attach myself to some sort of hobby. First, it was music (I've been trying to look into new bands and I've discovered the Fratellis who are awesome if you like the arctic monkeys kind of genre of music). And now, I've discovered style.com. It is such a good site for wasting time on (Or if you're a hardcore fashion fan, something to further your pursuits in the wonderful world of fashion).
I have never been a fan of clothes cause previously, to me, clothes were just something you put on to cover up the appropriate body parts that need to be covered up. Accessories were what were more important, but ever since I've stumbled upon all these mags and sites, its like wow! Why have I ignored the most crucial of all these things - the CLOTHES! Now, its not like I will suddenly turn into a fashionista and walk around Brunei in Chanel Haute Couture or anything (HA! like I could AFFORD IT) but I have to say I really have more appreciation for clothes as an art form. It can be so pretty and inspiring to look at!
Case in point, my favourite new designers, Rodarte! Their clothes are so pretty! And I really mean PRETTY! check them out - www.rodarte.net. And Chanel's Fall 08 line is just so...I don't know how to put in words but the silhouettes are just so elegant! (See what I mean by new obsession??! I've never actually spoken out loud about clothes like this before). For clothes as an art form, I would suggest looking up Christian Lacroix Haute Couture. It's amazing what they do with kain. (Hahaha in my mind I conjured up kain baju kurung but NO).
Anyway, I just had to share my new appreciation for clothes here. And just to let you all know I'm still alive and breathing. OK toodles.
